About Us

A Legacy Forged in Steel

Northshore Steel Inc. was founded in 1964 in Two Harbors, Minnesota, a town deeply connected to the iron ore industry and the Great Lakes. The strategic location along Lake Superior enabled the transportation of iron ore, which was critical to the steel industry and the economic growth of Northern Minnesota. The company’s roots are intertwined with this rich industrial history, reflecting a commitment to quality and community that has spanned generations.

Family-Driven Success

The story of Northshore Steel is also a story of family dedication. Milton and Sharon Larson, the founders, took a leap of faith when they purchased the company’s assets, driven by Milton’s determination and Sharon’s faith. With hard work and perseverance, they grew the company from a modest operation into a trusted name in steel fabrication. Their children, Dan, Dave, and Lori, joined the company in the 1980s, contributing to its expansion and success.

Expansion and Innovation

Over the decades, Northshore Steel, along with our dedicated epmployees, has continually adapted to the changing demands of the industry. The company’s ability to innovate while maintaining its core values has been key to its growth. From expanding its services to include industrial and infrastructure fabrication to achieving AISC Certification, Northshore Steel has solidified its position as a leader in the industry. The company’s investment in technology and modern equipment ensures that it can meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
